I'll also never use the Kobo store again (lost a few purchases I've made with the old account). I've set the device to never connect to the WLAN again (you have to connect once though, they don't allow you to set it up without online account) and to never sync the OS again. In any case, the device suddenly started to complain about missing Adobe DRM authorization for everything.Īfter a factory reset, I was able to open the PDFs again. Maybe it's just a bug, or maybe it scans PDFs without your permission and uploads fingerprints over WLAN for further analysis. Yesterday, it locked all my ebooks and PDFs on it, including PDFs of articles and books I've written myself. This is a heads up to warn you that the device scans all content you put on it and may lock it without any warning. Nobody can afford paying $200 USD for a Springer volume just to look up a citation. Not sure what to do with this knowledge.I bought a Kobo Elipsa a year ago or so because I thought that even though they support DRM for the books they sell, you'd be able to read any kind of PDFs on it. I think I will continue to use it for the better contrast anyway. Any help or advice?Įdit It looks like the synthetic spread feature is in the kepub formatting and doesnt have to do with size. The other issues are very nitpicky but I will probably need stick with using the forma for the moment if I can't resolve the 2 panel issue. Right now I am torn because the darker blacks and better sharpness is very nice. Also oddly it is slower to change pages(might be because it is not native size or something as well) Otherwise for reading manga, I think the extra capacity and better backlight is great, Black is darker, but the Greys and Whites seem very slightly dirtier on the Sage up close(I think it is caused by the different size/resolution of the files and might not be a flaw of the Sage since text pages are fine) Also notable is that the after-images are more noticeable(setting it to refresh every page fixes it). It also sometimes goes to background color after tilting and won't return to the image even after going to the next page or trying to tilt back, which is weird.ĭo I need to wait for the KCC update or is there some setting, or a quick fix to adjust the resolution myself in KCC?Ģ.

KCC does not have the sage image sizing yet and the Forma size is a little different which I believe makes it so the the 2 panel feature doesn't work and it zooms in on a single page instead The forma had the same problem until KCC released the update. Is there any way to get the 2 panel spread feature to work on the sage for sideloaded manga right now? Going from the 8gb Forma to the Sage, Primarily use it for reading manga.
